Quoted from Sydney Morning Herald:
Piano teacher guilty of abusing students

“A jury today found Makarov guilty of 10 sexual offences -
including homosexual intercourse and indecent assaults – against
two of his students.”

Hrrrm… did I miss something? Homosexual intercourse is a “sexual offence” again?

this makarov guy is the dude at the AIM and he’s also the piano teacher of a very close friend of mine, he is absolutely against the idea that Makarov would do such a thing. Makarov actually has a very strong support team alas, law suits have sent his entire family bankrupt.

Apparently the 4 boys who claim to be molested have been holding a conspiracy against their teacher for a while because their move from russia to Australia meant a loss of fame etc etc…

Thats the otherside of the story….

  that would “intercourse with a minor” not “homosexual intercourse”.
  
  However, occam’s razor – never attribute to malice what can be explained simply by incompetence. (no, that’s not occam’s razor at all, i know, i know. stop being so literal.)

    No I thought about the possibility of incompetence…. i.e. just “missing” the fact it was worded wrong. I doubt with the amount of editors they have running around there that they could miss that.

      Why is it wrong? I thought intercourse of any type with someone that doesn’t give permission was illegal.

        If that was the case, then surely the carge would be “intercourse without consent” or technically “rape”.
        
        The criminal charge was “homosexual intercourse”, which states nothing about consent.

        I think the newspaper has it wrong – ss78G-S of the Crimes Act used to carry the homosexual intercourse offences, but they have been repealed.
