Finally.. I am going to take the time to write.
I’ve been doing voice posts lately because, frankly, it’s a hell of a lot easier. Plus, I get 20 mins / month of international phone calls on my mobile plan, and I don’t know where else to use them!

Anyway, as my last few posts are indicating, I’m starting to fall apart at the seams here. Maybe I’ve bitten off more than I can chew this year… and work isn’t helping out much. I’m doing more shifts than ever, and my days off are literally spent recovering.

I’ve hit this point in life where everything is just … buzzing around me at the momment. I’m not really feeling anything, doing anything… I’m just existing for the sake of existing. Not much of a life, huh? I guess we all get times like this.. we live just to get through the next day.

Anyway, there is much I wish to post about, and a LOT of journals I want to comment on. I’ve been deliberately avoiding LiveJournal lately as it is just one MORE distraction that’s keeping me from doing my 3 lab reports, 4 tutorials and multiple other tasks that were all due yesterday.

Then again… my journal shouldn’t be about me bitching all the time. One of the interesting things I’ve seen lately was a film called What the $@#*#$ do we Know?. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. It is a film / feature-length doco that tries to explain human psychology, emotions, addictions etc. through chemistry and even quantum physics. It brings to the table some interesting ideas also about religion, and the meaning of life and why we’re here. Boffin or not, I highly recommend it !

Anyway, I’ve reserved aside 30 mins to do some journal commenting and replying to all those comments that people have kindly left here. I hope you’re all well, and if you haven’t heard from me for a bit of time, please forgive me!

‘later everyone!

Gus

Finally!

Hiiiiiiiiii everyone!

Wow. It has been soooooooooooooooooo-ooo-oooooo long since I’ve updated this blog.
Of course, the trick about good blogging is to update regularly so that people will read regularly and hence give a shit about what I’m writing. I spent 12 hours in front of the computer each shift at work, yet somehow I never get around to updating this thing!

So… to go back and highlight the most important events that have been happening….

New Subaru!!!
Yes!!! I finally have it! After 2.5 months of being dealt shit by the dealer and not being able to do anything about it, I have finally taken delivery of the car.
And let me tell you, she is absolutely beeeeaaauuuutiful. Mmmm… new car smell! And the smell of all-leather seats… mmmmmmmmmmmm.
Of course, Adam constantly tells me that he can’t get used to seeing me in a classy car after driving ‘Tasha (my ’91 laser). Of course, poor ‘Tasha was in a VERY sorry state by the end of the ordeal as she had |no back windscreen, and was relying on plastic bags and gladwrap to keep the wind and rain out. Claaaaaassy!

However, the fight is still yet to start with McGrath Subaru. They treated me like shit, were rude and I had to constantly call them to ask on updates. Plus the fact that a car that was meant to come on March 3rd ended up arriving on May 8th. That’s pretty piss poor if you ask me. Especially when they offer NOTHING in the way of compensation, knowing they have me by the balls because of the fact that it’s a Limited Edition and all the cars on the boat were sold. So grrr… I intend to let Subaru Australia know exactly what I think of McGrath.

Arrrghh @ Uni!
I can’t believe uni exams are only 1 month away! arrrgghhh!
I’m sooo over it, but not finished yet!. :’(
It’s the most annoying thing, working full time yet realising that you are still a student and have to do all those annoying student assignments / tutorials and what not. I just want this year to be over!
I find out tomorrow if my proposal for my thesis has been accepted or they let me do the project that I want.

2 years & to Melbourne
Just after Easter, Adam and I went on a little holiday down to Melbourne, courtesy of our good friend Kye who owns a lovely cafe on Commercial Rd (Heaven @ 151, next to Diva’s… for those that know Melbourne). We had lots of drinks and relaxation down there, and for those that didn’t hear my voice post, some good old-fashioned drunken Uno.

But the highlight was the celebration of Adam and my 2 year anniversary, a major milestone in anyone’s books! It was his turn to organise the event, and it was soooo cute! He had the entire top room of the cafe lit by candles and lined with roses, with a small dining table in the centre. And our own (very cute) waiter who looked somewhat like Justin from QAF :-) Just perfect :-)

….and the rest
Well life continues to be hectic, and I don’t think I’m looking after myself particularly well considering I have huge bags under my eyes and am always very tired.
It’s just a case of stretching myself a bit too far every now and then and sometimes forgetting where my priorities lie.
I’ve spent a LOT of time playing a new online MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) called “SolarFleet” where I’ve actually created my own helper site called www.stellararchive.com, which is doing about 1000 unique hits a day and has been my latest little project. Half of the guys at work are also playing the game, and we’ve built up quite an empire :-)

However, that being said I still need to look after myself and realise that my priorities should be with uni and work, and not so much online games.

I hope y’all are living and loving well.. please leave a comment so I know you still read my blog!

A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles.
The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.
He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife.
She directs him down the correct aisle.
A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton
balls and a ball of string on the counter.

She says, confused, “Sir, I thought you were looking for some
tampons for your wife?
He answers, ” You see, it’s like this,
yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of
cigarettes,
and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling
papers; cause it’s sooo-ooo–oo-ooo much cheaper.

So, I figure if I have to roll my own, so does she.”
