Hey Gang!

Wow… I really haven’t updated for a long time. I should lose my blogging licence :-)

Where to start?

  1. Wabbits!
There has always been debate between the Stewart and Zuchetti clans about animals. I have to admit, when we first moved into our apartment at Dulwich Hill, I promised Adam that we’d get a puppy to keep him company. Of course, apartments aren’t always the best places to keep puppies, so I’ve insisted that until we get a house, we remain dogless. Of course, I wanted a kitten but Adam keeps bringing up the word “allergies”, to which I usually roll my eyes.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, we needed a pet and we compromised on rabbits. It started off with one, a white male dwarf rabbit called “Flip”. Adam literally opened the door one day with a cardboard box and a gleeful doe-eyed look, and that was it! I spend the next day or two building a rabbit hutch. Yes…. Gussy actually demonstrated some carpentry skills! The hutch is a monster… two stories with a ramp, and sturdy as all hell. It even has 3 doors and a little hidey-hole for the rabbits to burrow into.

Of course, we couldn’t have flip getting “lonely” in his mansion, so the next day we had to go find him a mate. Don’t ask me WHY, but we ended up with a female. A disturbingly cute white bunny with grey tips. We got her home, and introduced her to Flip. No hellos, no dignitries, he jumped on her back within seconds. Love at first sight?? LOL

    So here are our babies!

  2. House Hunting
We got a call from the real estate agent not too long ago, requiring access so they could do an valuation on our apartment. This could only mean one thing… that he owner wants to sell. This was confirmed a few days later. We haven’t told to get out yet, but we are trying to jump the gun and move whilst we have the time and energy, and are not rushed. Both Adam and I will be over our heads in work later this year, so it’s better to move now I think.

We’ve been looking so far mainly on the lower north shore and northern suburbs of Sydney, for a house. Yes… Gus is moving back to his old stomping grounds (but PLEASE shoot me if I ever move back to St Ives), and am settling down with the husband in the suburbs. Yes… this actually worried me a fair bit… after all.. i’m 23! Am I too young to be doing this? Then again… it’s only renting, I have no intentions of signing a mortgage just yet!

The selection of places though has been rather ordinary…. most places we’ve found are fairly old, musty, and there’s nothing I hate more than carpets throughout. I think i’ve been a little bit spoilt in the place I am… polished floor boards, air conditioning and large living spaces… and I have no intention of going onto anything less! We’re looking at houses rather than apartment for two reasons… a) so we can finally have a puppy! (I’ve campaigned for a black labrador and he actually AGREED!) and b) I want to have a gazebo out the back where we and our friends can drink, smoke, have BBQ’s and talk absolute shit :-) We applied for one place, but our applications wasn’t selected, which was unfortunate :( So, keeping looking!

  3. Cocktail Party
First.. I can’t believe I haven’t written about this yet! On the 1st of this month, Adam and I hosted a cocktail party to the likes of which ye have never seen! We went all out, dressing up, organising which drinks to mix, and even hiring a waiter! Oh yes… we don’t do anything by halves! It was so good to see so many of our friends turn up… and BOY did I get drunk. It was the 3rd cocktail that killed me… something called a Rum Iced Tea It tasted so smooth, and I downed two glasses rather quickly. Of course, each glass had about 3-4 shots in it! After that, I was quite a mess and had to lie down in order to stop me from passing out on the floor. I did regain consciousness though, and rejoined the party outside, smoking cigars with some of my closest friends.
The morning after… wheeew! BAAAD hangover, but we all mustered up the energy to traipse down to the local cafe and enjoy greasy bacon n’ eggs…. Can you imagine anything more perfect?
  4. …And the rest
I’ve decided that I shouldn’t mull too long over my shocking uni results… needless to say from my last post, I failed both and as such still have 12 months to go at uni. I have begun wondering whether I simply do not do uni well, or that I will be a mediocre professional engineer. HOWEVER, I have had a lot of people tell me that mediocre uni results do not necessarily always translate into work ethic. I’ve found out that nearly half of the engineers where I work mucked up uni quite spectacularly, yet are some of the most ingenious people I’ve met in their field. I’ve had a few of them reassure me that they think as soon as I finish uni, I will flourish in the workforce as I apparently have the right kind of attitude and ability to go far. Work also gave me a small pay rise this financial year and a bonus, so maybe I’m doing something ok :-)

I’m actually looking forward to moving, and getting a dog. I’m an Aquarian, and like change, so hopefully I will be able to restructure parts of my life and get a much healthier routine going. This semester will probably be the toughest of my life, but the light is at the end of the tunnel.

Hope everyone is well! If you’ve read this far, thankyou, and leave a comment!

Well that semester was a fucking disaster.
Another 6 months to my degree.

What the hell was I thinking?
