Yes… that’s right!
Adam’s been pestering me for almost 2 years on this one, and I finally gave in two days ago!
We have a new arrival to our family, making our stereotypical northern suburbs suburbanite life complete!
No, the bunnies weren’t enough. We have gone the whole hog dog this time!

I would like to introduce Shelton, a 7-week old black labrador who within 2 days of his arrival has completely taken over the place and ensured that life will never be the same again.

Shelton!
I was wearing these not 5 minutes earlier…

It has been an experience watching this youngster ensnare the unwary under his vicious psychological onslaught of utter cuteness. Not even Bunnings salesgirls were spared, as all came and cooed under his power.

Nothing is sacred around our place anymore. Our little black poop machine has made sure that he always stays underfoot and is constantly seen attached to a shoe or eating some charcoal (and other assorted wood) leftover from our brazier.

However, he is like all youngsters and circadian rhythms simply do not apply. It’s 2am and only now have I calmed him down for long enough that he will sleep through the night and not howl for attention (trying to break him of this habit… stern but utterly loving I say!). More to be posted on this, but keeping this post friends-only as mother does not know yet (I ower her money). Ahhh… we’re a family now!

Hiya People!

I’ve been a very good husband lately, and for Adam’s thesis I’ve written him a website!
For those of you who don’t know, Adam is writing a thesis on TV Downloading in Australia, and particularly how it’s affecting Free-to-air Television, particularly Channel 7 in NSW.

Interestingly enough, everyone seems to know about downloading et al, but nobody so far has actually conducted official research into how prevalent it actually is. It’s quite exciting… Adam appears to be the first to actually do it properly (i.e. not a Herald poll).

So what I need you all to do is to go to the website that I wrote for him, and fill out the survey so that FINALLY we will be able to go to the networks and show ‘em what the people think!
Please note: ONLY OPEN TO AUSTRALIANS.
Sorry other ppls!

Heya pplz!

Unfortunately, Flip, our cute little white bunny medepicted in a recent post, has died. Adam called me at work, quite upset, and when I got home sure enough, he was gone. It appears that he was frightened to death, (shock), most likely from a marauding cat that we have seen around the place and has tried to go after the bunnies a few times.

Now I’m a cat lover. Had cats all my life. But this cat, which pisses on our front door, howls outside our bedroom window and tips our rubbish bin over, must go. Suggestions to me have included some cat repellent spray, water guns, but I’m seriously considering leaving it some “cat food”.

Does anyone have suggestions for removing (permanently or temporarily), a rouge cat?

Hi Gang!

Well… We’ve moved!.
The hosue hunting and subsequent move was a stressful PITA, as I’m sure many can relate to, but now it’s mostly done.

Adam and I have signed a lease on a nice big house in Ryde, complete with 3 bedrooms, a study (Gussy’s geeky computer nook I think of it), gas cooking and hot water (one of those Rinnai Infinity ones that heat on demand… big selling point for me!), timber floors and air conditioninng… mmmm. Most importantly, it has both Telstra and Optus cable to the house, so I will be getting Foxtel hooked up at home (for free, naturally!). It’s got a nice big backyard and an undercover timber deck, perfect for BBQ’s and the puppy that Adam is insisting we get. I have managed to convince him to get a Labrador instead of the wussy King Charles Cavalier Spaniel that he was originally going to get.

So it’s finally happened…. Gussy has moved back to the suburbs. *sighs*. Y’know, I always swore I would never let it happen to me. I was enjoying my inner-city metropolitan existance and swore I would never end up back in the kind of situation I grew up in i.e. a North Shore white-picket-fence sterile Soccer Mum hell-hole. I keep telling myself that it’s not happening to me, and I have sworn that I will never ever move further north than I already am.

That being said, the location isn’t that bad. It’s probably the closest and safest place close to the city that we can get a decent house on our budget. It’s only 20-30 minutes to the city and 5 minutes away from work. So that’s what I’m telling myself!

I’m really hoping that this semester shapes up to be more of a success than last semester… I’ve started work on my thesis, developing a VOIP application for Avaya to work on Microsoft Vista. I don’t know who else out there has used Vista before, but unless Microsft changes something soon, we will see Macs take over the world. It is truly a disaster, comparable to their Windows ME release. Oh well.. will have to make it work somehow :-)

I have a few posts to write in time… have been doing some pondering on Life, the Universe and Everything and think I should air it to see what kind of response it gets…

Until then… take care!
