Travel has been the name of the game lately. Last week, I was in New Zealand. Saturday / Sunday, I was in Bathurst. Monday it was Canberra. Now here I am, back in Bathurst, enroute to Gawler, which is just north of Adelaide. This one though does involve airplanes, but unfortunately not flying one down to Adelaide. Rather, I’m towing an aircraft over 1300 km so I can use it to compete in the Australian Junior National Championships. This year i’m taking an LS-4, which is apparently an improvement over the DG-300 I used last year. It’s not a fun task though, towing a glider all that way. It weighs a fair bit, and being approximately 13 metres long, it doesn’t handle wind or corners too well. I think tomorrow I will be driving carefully. I’m so looking forward to this comp… moreso now than I was before. a) I need the break! b)I want to see the people more than do any flying c)I’ve never been to South Australia and d) Did I mention I needed a f**ing break already? gah! I’ll be sure to post lots of piccies too.. my Sony camera is now back in service, so expect far more regular updating and **hugs** to you all! Gus |
